college day!
had to wake up super early this morning to go to school for college day. got scolded by my dad for not waking up. and he said sthg to the effect of: if i were in army camp i wld hav already woken up hrs ago. okk. wadevrz.
after registration, i entered the LT and realised tt my seat was behind this seat labelled ZHAO YAN. i soon found out that his mum indeed came to collect his prize. haha. wld be a big surprise if it wasnt his mum but zhaoyan himself thoughh. acherli i had a dream last nite about this. i dreamt that when zhao yans name was called, an assistant walked up to the stage with a laptop and opened it. there, on the screen, was a big Z. and zhao yan will make his thank you speech thru the laptop. HAHA. i must hav watched too much death note le.
for those who dont knw what im talking abt, basically, in death note, there is this character called L. when he feels like communicating to a group of people, he will send his assistant with a laptop. the assistant will then open up the laptop and there will be a huge L on the laptop screen. L will then talk to ppl thru the laptop.
okk. tt aside, i was so happy to meet so many of my frens whom i havent seen for such a long time (: that was like the main highlight of the day anyway. who cares about the ceremony rightt HAHA. it was so boring and i was feeling cold and sleepie ): decided to thaw outside. walked around the area outside the LT and saw this poster with the 5 houses' new crests. OMG. the crests are so cool and each house has a cool latin motto and a symbollic animal. it rly looks hogwart-ish HAHA. *dies of jealousy*
aft tt, took a walk on the top floor with
sheenie. when we wanted to return back to our seats in the LT, the wonkie girl (who had earlier mixed up levels in the school), mixed up the levels againn! tskkkk. by then, evry1 was filing out alr! headed down for reception. chatted and took pics with many tchers including MR
BENNY LEE! he acherli came backkk! (: yayy! wonders if
junli saw him. she would be like soooo happie (: haha
junli kept saying like she wldnt be able to c me again aft this liddat HAHA. no worries lahh. its not like ill disappear liddat. and theres always my look-a-like and act-a-like at ur workplace rmb (: HAHAS.

DAYNA CHIA too! she went moe this yr alr so shes no longer teaching in rj ): booo. so many council teachers left rj after we left. :'( no wonder i dint manage to see her a few days ago. yayy. anw i stayed till veri late to catch up with all my frens and tchers todayy (: rly missed them all loh! :'(

The first thing my mum said when i came home on wed was: poor thingg. acherli any1 who saw me on that dayy would say the same. cos i was miserable and sickly, plus i had like 2 huge plasters on my arm.
basically, on tue night, i was down with high fever, and it continued to rise thruout the night. i also had a super bad headache that didnt allow me to raise my head. ZOMGZ. it was like my worst night ever. i just lay in bed feeling miserable, and waiting for morning to come so that i can report sick. i couldnt even eat breakfast, and took alot of effort to get out of my bed. thanks to all my bunk mates and
yinghao who took care of me thruout the nite and helping me take my temp. even tho the thermometer was like centimetres away from me, i cldnt even get up to measure my own temp. it was THAT bad. i slept at 7pm that night and woke up at 6am the next day, effectively clocking 11hrs of sleep. but i dint get out of bed until 7am to report sick at the medical centre. by then, my temp was 39.8.
the doc recommended me to be IV dripped (the greatest horror of my life, esp since i almost had a bubble entering my blood during an IV drip session in SISPEC). and so i went to the sick bay and prepared to get myself dripped. the medic in charge told me he will go prepare to drip me. after setting up the drip, he was all ready to jab the needle into my vein, when his other fren came and felt like practising his jabbing. and so he took over the needle and jabbed me AND failed. after which, that guy muttered some stuff and just walked off looking pissed and passed th needle back to the first medic, who said he is very experienced. and so he attempted to jab me a 2nd time, AND FAILED again. and he tried a 3rd time. it was quite clear that he missed, but just so not to lose face, he decided to twist and turn the needle about hoping he might by luck get the needle into my vein. of cos, after much effort, he failed.
then he called another of his fren, who claims he had never failed before. i was placing my hopes on tt guy but he missed my vein again. by now i dont have many veins for them to choose frm to drip alr. and then another guy heard tt i had been jabbed 4 times came in, said tt his frens suck, and jabbed me a 5th time. and failed. then the medics were all like damn paisehh and said stuff like: u have an interesting anatomy. haha. zomgz. and then they decided to call their sergeant in. but the sergeant failed too. i was acherli quite pissed with the lot of them cos they were treating it as a challenge liddat. with the nxt-better-player attitude. zomgz. this is not a game loh.
anw, at this point of time that they decided to seek help from the MO, who was quite appalled that i got jabbed 6 times. and asked them to stop jabbing me and gave up on dripping me. instead, i had to be jabbed in my butt, which was alot less painful anyway. and that was how i ended up with 6 jab marks on my arm at the end of the dayy. ):
this terrible incident aside, living in the sick bay is actually a very pleasant experience. u get food delivered straight to u. when u r thirsty, u can ask for water. when u r cold, u can ask for extra blankets. and most importantly, there is a hot shower in the sick bay! :o so i was resting in the sick bay for the whole dayy. slept thru most of the day. the jab was quite effective, cos by noon, my fever dropped by 2 degrees already.
in the evening, i was ready to be discharged cos my temp had stabilised already. when i walked out of the sickbay, i met jonfoo, who was reporting sick for chicken pox. aft collecting my medicine, i went back to join the rest at the vehicle shed. there, i suddenly felt dizzy and had a strong urge to vomit. i rushed to the drain to vomit and my knees felt weak all of a sudden. zomg. it was like so scaryy. ):
so that was my state when i reached home on wed. ): took my medicine and had an early rest. felt alot better on thur and went to sch (: realised i missed sch loads! wanted to meet my
buddies but cldnt find them ): met quite alot of my teachers thoughh. and also
ms goon the chem tutor :P saw
chinghui too but dint get to talk to him. chatted with teachers till noon before going to canteen with
cheekie and
grace for lunch. MISSED canteen food! esp frm my fave stall. haha. ordered black pepper chicken stew *coughs* wonders if 1D ppl still rmb. and guess wad. the stall auntie acherli rmbs me haha.
cheekie told me abt his experience in armour over lunch and told me that he had a similar experience as wad i had experienced the day b4. :P he was warded for high fever too and they poked him like 20 times HAHA. ohh. and i got to see

cheekie :/
after lunch, rushed home to get ready for my guard duty. hehs. decided to do sentry this time roundd. chatted with the sergeant while standing at the sentry post. when he heard of my IV drip incident, he said sthg like: never let urself be in a situation where u have to let the medics in this camp jab u. guess i learnt this the hard wayy huh. dint get much sleep dur guard duty and my fever came back, tgt with flu ): bleahh. come to thk of it. mebbe i did predict im going to fall sick. *points to blog title of last week's entry* its all planned de :P

又犯了二次感冒
had vehicle navi and flotation this week. vehicle navi was quite fun, cos now u dun hav to walk the distance anymore (: so its no longer tiring. and there r no obscurely small checkpoints for u to hunt for. u just hav to get to the general location (: and it wld be even more fun if ur instructor decides to take over the driver position and do a bit of speeding over the bumpy training grounds :P
aft that was prep for flotation. we dint hav to do the actual flotation, but had to do emergency exit drill which was quite gross cos we had to simulate that our BX was sinking, and jump out of the vehicle, into the oily mucky water, then paddle back to shore. :S aft that we had to practise discarding evrything we had into the icky waterr in 3 secs. and tt was abt it. unfortunately, things dint go smoothly that dayy. it rained very badly in the morning so we werent allowed to continue with our flotation exercise. so there was veri little time left to complete evrything, and then the instructors got impatient with our sluggish movements and we were punished quite a bit. first ever "major" punishment we had since we entered camp.
on wed was the usual SOC training. this time round, the weather wasnt on my side and it dint rain after the first rundown ended, so the failures had to go for extra training, which involved endless running. bleahh. and then our instructor gave us a motivational talk abt how it is all in the mind. ): which was true, cos he conducted this mini experiment. he told us to run from point A to point C, but he stopped us at point B, which was significantly alot closer to point A than point C is. As we were all disheartened at the thought of having to run to point C, we clocked a miserable timing at point B. He then asked us to run again, this time telling us that the actual end point was point B, and we managed to improve our timing by a whole minute. apparently we werent weak physically, but mentally. ): bleahh chorkiang whyy r u so weak.
anw the highlights of this week were an early bookout to look forward to, ocean's album, and the deathly hallows. i collected hp7 at 7.20 am in the morning from times. they r so thoughtful loh. they realised the customers wld be queueing early, so they gave them free brekkie (: ocean's album was quite mediocre, with onli a small number of nice songs.

as for hp7, but it was a really great book, save the last 5 pages, which made the story so fairy-taleish. (it IS meant to be a children's story after all right?) HAHA. the story was very fast paced, as rowling prolly had to tie up the loose ends and jiao1 dai4 many of the chars. many of the chars were sacrificed along the way. and i was particularly sad over a few, especially moody (his poor eye!), dobby and snape (whom i had hated right up till this book). the best part of this book, imo, is how they showed the other sides of snape and dumbledore. which made the characters, esp dumbledore, more realistic. the quarrels along the way amongst the trio also gave the whole story a more realistic feel. after all, the personalities of the trio were really quite different. all in all, i am very satisfied with the way rowling ended this last book (: cheers!

该怎么学会去适应
intensive physical training again this week. failed SOC horribly. failed by 2.5 minutes HAHA. how miserable rightt. and those who failed were supposed to go for remedial training which involved full gear runs. after i completed SOC, i knew i failed and had this feeling of doom for the impending remedial training. but guess what! it started pouring and we remedial training was cancelled so i was spared from the much dreaded training.
besides SOC, we had our usual runs and training for IPPT. down here, they dont spare you until you get gold so its GGXX for me again. bleahh. i feel like super weak and the tests are coming early aug so i think im so going to be entering lots of remedial training groups ):
we finished gunnery this week, and ended with 1 theory test and 2 TSR tests (on 2 diff weap systems). 1 of the TSR tests had a passing mark of 90, and the passing marks for the other 2 tests were 80. and of cos, there was the usual threat of confinement for failures. acherli, these tests r alot more stressful than sch tests for one reason. u cant proceed to the nxt qn until u confirmed your answer on the current qn. and if u get a mistake for tt qn, they will immediately tell u that you got it wrong. so along the way u r like counting down how many more mistakes you can make. and as that count slowly decreases, you start to panic more and take more n more time to ans each qn. ZOMG loh. 3 tests in a row. heart attack. but i managed to do pretty well, scoring 93, 95 and 97 for the 3 tests (in no particular order)
on fri we started on flotation! BOOOO. after setting up the swimming screen for our bionix, our BX failed the initial tests cos of a faulty swimming screen so it cant swim at all. wasted all our efforts. but next week we r going to drive our BXs into a reservoir! sounds cool? but its not. hehhs. during the initial tests, the BXs were sent into a dip pool to test out, and guess wad! ZOMG. the pool had a layer of oil. and nxt week, we will be practising an emergency evacuation drill, ie we will be jumping into oily water. apparently theres seaweed inside too. so ZOMGz.
after the hectic week, i came home looking forward to the 2 new albums tt had been released over the week: wang li hong and mi lu bing's new albums. guess wad. i was more satisfied with mi lu bing's new album than wang li hong's. for some reason i found li hom's new album a big letdown. apart frm luo ye gui gen, the rest of the songs r quite trashy. on the other hand, im in love with almost all the songs in mi lu bing's new album! (: lei and shi ying rox (: and they r so talented they acherli came up with shi ying themselves! whee! next album to look fwd to: AH MEI! (: the first hit is written by jay chou and it sounds FANTABULOUS (:
hehhs. anw for charts todayy. great surprises in the charts again. 4 NEW SONGS. and wo huai nian de is still on the charts after 16 weeks HAHA. how wonderful. hmm. and the top 3 songs all changed. bleahh. li hom jumped from 8 to 1, jj jumped from 7 to 2, and li kai di qiu biao mian onli increased from 4 to 3. JUMPPPP! ): if not when all the others start coming in (ie jay chou, SHE), there'll be no more hope le ): boooo. and good riddance to fang da tong.

Just came back from camp this morning cos i got confined this weekend. why? cos our bunk ppl forgot to lock the bunk and got caught. RAHHH. whyyy so suay. hehhs. apparently 1 confinement is considered the lightest punishment here cos there are heavier punishments such as guard duty, SOL and >1 confinement. Confinement is light cos most of the time u get to c ur bunk and u get to rest in it. Well, supposedly.
But it so happened that the tank warrent officer was around and wanted the tank shed clean. So, being the lowest lifeforms around in the camp on a saturday morning, we had to do the dirty work. So our morning was spent sweeping up dead leaves from the floor from the whole shed. After that, we had to clear rubbish from the shed too. but thankfully that was all that we had to do, so we got quite a bit of rest that evening (:
The confinement was really demoralising as we really didnt expect to receive such a harsh punishment for our mistake. (Despite being repeatedly assured that confinement is the lightest possible punishment) I lost a whole precious saturday and I had to sleep in the lousy bunkk. But thankfully, I didnt miss the charts, cos I still reached home in time for charts.
Charts today was really surprising. The top 2 really surprised evry1, with wang zi at 1st place and ai ai ai by fang da tong in 2nd place! like zomg. noone wld rly expect these 2 songs to own SHE's wu yue tian, wu yue tian's lkdqbm, and yanzi's gu ji gu ji. like ZOMG. and i didnt expect gu ji gu ji to crash again ): bleahh. hopefully these 3 songs, which i like alot, wld rise next week (: then again, competition now is quite stiff. theres eason's tao tai at 6th, jj's sha shou at 7th and wang li hong's luo ye gui gen at 8th. i thk this is really the end for gu ji gu ji le ): on another note, cuo le zai cuo and bu neng shuo de mi mi got up! (: yayy for the 2 songs. love them alot! i want to watch bu neng shuo de mi mi, but im afraid the ending mite be some dumb open ending, or mebbe the mi mi isnt revealed since its not supposed to be told anw. :/

Abit abt training this week. we learnt the cannon which is so heavy (>100kg) and we had to strip and assemble it. like zomg. and guess how we learnt the lessons? we acherli went to a comp lab, and learnt it thru a comp programme. like WOW! eLearning in the army. ZOMG. i hope there are more lessons like that (:
we had more physical exercises too, and i cld see that im like one of the weakest in the lot in terms of combat physical, cos i always lag behind really badly when i hav to put on full gear and run. but i am able to run super fast when im in PT kit. this doesnt make sense rite. its just a mental barrier i have to overcome i guess. :/
hehhs. im so glad theres a blog for me to type stuff, cos i speak with much difficulty now. rite now, i can still hear a bit of my voice. yesterday and the day before were the worst days. i was like almost hoarse lahh. rite now i sound like ah du HAHA. :P
