House Visit
Havent been blogging for a while already. shall start from last sat. was supposed to go for eugene's bday but then PSC had some SJT which they wanted their scholars to try out so i went for that instead. The exercise was quite interested but im not sure how much of it was confidential so i shant divulge anything about it. after that, went with
kenneth (who was also there) to funan cos i needed to go to the Times there to spend $40 worth of vouchers. i originally intended to spend them on iris johansen's books, since i recently got hooked on her books and somehow they are quite hot in the library too. however, i remembered that i wanted philip pullman's "His Dark Materials" too, and the trilogy set cost 39-ish so i just settled for that. along the way,
kenneth told me about his india exercise and the various places he had been to during R and R. the tour sounded like a real eye-opener, but i believe that tour was very hard earned.
anw, yesterday we organised a visit to
dingzhi's house since noone has visited him yet ever since he broke his arm. we waited at Lot One for
yongsheng to come down from camp and i suggested going to the arcade. we ended up playing initial D. haha i always went for the easy way out and chose auto, and kept flooring the accelerator throughout the race LOL. imagine doing that during my TP haha :P it was so fun that our house visit almost became an arcade session.
after yongsheng arrived, we headed down to
dingzhi's house. when we reached there, we quickly switched the TV to channel 5 cos EnBloc was already showing and it was the 2nd last episode, ie 2nd last chance to see andrea forseka haha. then we all chatted with
dingzhi for a while. his condition seems quite bad and the doctors arent exactly that responsible in ensuring a timely examination of his condition. hopefully he will be able to recover ASAP (:

Mass song updates!
Havent blogged in a long while. i shall update my blog with some of the nice songs that im recently addicted to.
the first song is a song in pin guan's new album, and it is written by ah xin! qi + qu by him. haha. im really impressed by his recent compositions for several artistes. yang cong for aska, wo hen hao for liu ruo yin and na xie nv hai jiao wo de shi for pin guan. they really suit the singers, and show a slightly different side of them. not to forget, they are all very K-ge type of songs, with very nice lyrics.
speaking of the lyrics, na xie nv hai jiao wo de shi is very similar to some of ah xin's other compositions. firstly the countdown from 10 to 1 reminds me of the counting from 1 to 9 in si ben dao yue qiu. and the repetitive "xiang nian de xiang nian de xiang nian de" in this song reminds me of "yi ceng yi ceng yi ceng" in aska's yang cong. ok. mebbe im thinking too much haha. this is my favourite song now... after yang cong (which is still my all-time top fave)

SHE + feilunhai also has a new song, which is a promotion song for some milky drink haha. :D zhang dong liang, zhang xin zhe and dai ai ling also have nice new songs in their albums too. the no of nice songs recently is too many for me to list the lyrics one by one haha. oh and news has it that he wei jian will be releasing debut album in june this year. shall keep an eye for his album (:

Just in Singapore
just watched the last episode of yi fang ban ting yi shui gang and i felt that it was the best mediacorp ending in a long long while. really, thumbs up for this show. i initially thought the plot was very lame and didn't really want to watch it. however, after watching a few episodes, i found the story funny and constantly pokes fun at real life scenarios in singapore. it is like a much better packaged jack neo show.
on to the last episode. every minute of the last episode was exciting. even up till the last 10 minutes of the show, the vat was still changing hands and the fate of the vat was still very much unknown. and every single family had their own mini conclusions throughout the show. there wasn't a single scene in the last episode that was draggy. right up till the final scene, even though that ending was expected, but they made the best of the ending and it didn't seem cheesy at all. it was also heartening to see that the cute weijie survived (: this is definitely THE BEST MEDIACORP SHOW ENDING for a long while and i regretted not watching the whole show due to my initial bias towards it.
*sigh* now i wont get to see much of fiona alr :P
on my aos day, i heard joanna's i love you on 933. haha im damn mesmerized by her voice! (: totally! :P it is a really nice version of david tao's ai hen jian dan. thk im recently very crazy over joanna's songs. in addition, my clerk also showed me a very sad mv which you all might want to take a look if u r free. he warned me that i might cry after watching but unfortunately i didnt hahas :P

Xiao Tai Yang
ive been complaining for 3 months about the lack of new songs from tian wang, tian hou and tian tuans. really, unlike previous years, few top end artistes released their albums in the first quarter of this yr. up till now, we have yet to hear news from many of these top end artistes with regards to the their 2008 album. anyway, quarter one this yr was more like the season for new singers to release their albums. lots of new singers chose to release their debut albums during this period, as if it were pre-planned.
thankfully, my complaints are finally answered. on monday, there was the du jia shou bo of mayday's new song, xiao tai yang. when i first heard of this song title a week ago, i was expecting it to be like a fast rock song, but it turned out to be a slow wang-ci like song. was a little disappointed, but then the tune was quite nice so at least it sounded awesome overall. (:
SHE has also released their version of zhang xue you's hong bian quan qiu. in less than 2 weeks since zhang xue you's version was released, SHE had already fan chang-ed their song. was quite surprised that SHE actually sang this song for beijing 08, since they are usually very careful not to tread on political issues. the SHE version of the song is less majestic, but it sounds a bit more playful, gentle and is generally cuter, so i like the SHE version more on the whole.
