new duet
went for circuit yesterday to refresh my circuit. haha. got to drive from home to CDC before that. minus the early morning jam, which caused the drive to take 40 minutes, the trip was quite fun.
anyway, i just discovered fish is singing a duet with leo ku in his latest album! :o its a pretty sweet duet haha. lots of nice duets recently (:

疼爱
was quite disappointed that xia yi ge tian liang did not clinch the champion today, and dropped from 2nd to 3rd instead. replacing it in the 2nd position is eason's lu yi zhi dou zai, which rebounded from position #3 last week. the drop in xia yi ge tian liang could be due to the fact that bai fen bai entered the charts this week. quite a late entrance in my opinion. the nicer 3rd hit, bu yao er yu, is bound to affect bai fen bai's performance.
another disappointing was the falling of chuan shuo out of top 10. sadly, its peak is only at #14. ): quite sad for such a nice song...
overall, there were little changes in top 10 this week. xiao tai yang continued staying in top 10, much to my surprise, only dropping a little from #8 to #9. if mayday fans are really aiming to push xiao tai yang to the overall number 1 song this year, they still have a long way to go to trash yang cong. xiao tai yang has to continue dropping at its current rate of 1 position per week for the next 3 weeks or so...
also, elva's i'll be there made a grand entrance, debuting at position 15 today (: jiayou! hopefully it clinches a good position before elva fans start voting chong dong, which is a very nice song.
on a side note, i realised something about the songs which ah xin wrote for the xin guang guys. for yang zong wei, he wrote yang cong. for xiao jing teng, he wrote teng ai. both song titles have xie2 yin1 with the singers names haha. just randomly noted it todayy, when i added teng ai to my playlist. i also noticed that ah xin used
震耳欲聋 in both teng ai and zou huo ru mo. haha whats with that word :/

萧亚轩 - 冲动
my favourite shu qing ge from elva's new album. the only downfall of this song is that, even at the climax, elva sings the chorus at the same volume and feel as when she sings the normal choruses. so u dont really get a climax feeling for this song, which is a big waste, since the title "chong dong" has much room for emotions. nevertheless, the tune is nice, so i still like this song on the whole. but if this song has more "chong dong" in it, it would certainly become one of my top 10 faves at the end of the year.

PC show
After a long wait, a tian hou finally released her album this week! Elva released her album, Three-Faced Elva on friday. The album has a good mix of Elva's na2 shou3 dance songs and some shu qing songs. However, I feel that it fairs averagely on the whole. Maybe I had quite high expectations of elva since she is a tian hou after all, so the album didnt manage to meet my expectations.
Following the release of Elva's album is Jam Hsiao's debut album, which is scheduled to be released tomorrow, but the album got leaked online today. I was surprised when I read the writeup of the album. So many famous songwriters actually kua4 dao1 to help Jam in his album. The list of people include: 李偲菘、李伟菘、陈伟、曹格、F.I.R./阿沁、五月天/阿信、苏打绿/青峰、小宇. However, after one round of album sampling, I was rather disappointed with the songs in the album. Maybe the songs are man4 re4 type, which require me to listen a few times before liking them. Hopefully ill change my opinion of the album after listening to it again.
jam's first hit, shou cang (written by li wei song), is nice though. it entered the charts today at position 17. meanwhile, yoga and jade's chuan shuo faced an unexpected drop from position 14 last week to 16 this week. so now jam is just closely behind yoga. the battle of the xin guang stars continues even after the competition has ended (:
to some extent, charts are getting more and more unpredicatable. li hom's one world one dream, after falling to position 4, rebounds all the way to #1 this week, allowing the song to finally clinch the champion title after 7 long weeks of rise and falls. xiao tai yang continues to hover in top 10, staying at position 8 for the 2nd week running. this song has a really impressive performance, spending 9 out of the 10 weeks that it is on the charts in top 10. however, i find xiao tai yang the type of song that gets nicer the more you listen to it, so maybe thats the reason for its good performance. lastly, sui ran wo yuan yi, which is a nicer hit than wu jia ke hui, actually fell this week from position 5 to 6. if it continues to fall, it will be a worse performing hit than wu jia ke hui, which is surprising since it is the pian wei qu of the ch8 show, bian zou qu.
after listening to longhubang today, i went to suntec for the PC show. omg they actually sold the lizard skin vaio for $1,199 which is like half of what i paid for my vaio 3 yrs ago. haha. and the 16GB creative zen costs less than what i paid for my 5GB zen micro 3 yrs ago. so i shall be patient and wait another year before upgrading my laptop and mp3 player - just before i fly off for my overseas studies (:

NEW SONG: 走火入魔
OMG ding dang + ah xin's new song! (: du jia shou bo-ed today. have been looking forward to new songs by ding dang ever since she released her super nice li jia chu zou! this is a super nice duet and the collaboration between ah xin and ding dang is seamless!

2008 is indeed a good year for new singers. theres so many new singers who have successfully released their debut albums this year/end of last yr, and these albums have been very well received.
At last, our next potential 天后 has released her debut album! ive been waiting expectantly for this album for ages, and its finally here. im simply in love with the album cover ok! she looks so 贵族气 in the album cover! going to start listening to her songs soon. hope chuan shuo and wo jiu shi zhe yang were just appetizers, and the "main courses" are still in the rest of the album (:
anyway, an update on my TP. haha i failed it, as expected. guess i wasnt confident enough haha. but i guess ill try harder and aim to pass on my next TP date which is in aug (:
